Of Fae and Hate
"Well..." She drawls. "You have a few options, Clemm, Clemmen, Time-"
"Time?" I ask, cutting her off. "You think Time is a better name than Clemmentime?"
She tilts her head to the side slightly. "Absolutely."
My lips twitch as I fight off a smile. "I'll just say whatever rolls off the tongue naturally."
"Good." She gives me a nod before pointing at the other girl. "That's Zoenne. Now tell us, who are you?"
I hold out a hand to her which she shakes. "Neryssa, but I go by Nerys."
She nods like the nickname has her approval. I turn to Zoenne and even though she's already gotten a proper introduction by attacking me with a hug, I hold out a hand to her and she shakes it so quickly I almost expect my hand to fall off.
A door opens and I turn to find another brown skinned girl zipping out of a hallway a few feet away. She has curly sky blue hair pulled back into a ponytail that bounces against her back as she walks in a hurry. Her eyes barely move over us and she gives out a gruff, "hi," before she's out of the door, slamming it behind her.
"That's Nala, she's one of our other roommates, but I'm sure you'll barely see her, she's always on the go." Clemmen says, waving a hand.
I nod, opening my mouth to ask where my room is when another door slams, further into the dorm this time.
"Why the fuck are you idiots slamming doors? I told you I needed to get my beauty rest to prepare for the first week and now I'm awake." I don't even have time to register the fact that I've heard the voice already today before the owner is appearing from the hallway, stopping a few feet away from us.
Fucking hell.
The rose gold girl from earlier is standing before me and if I thought she looked pissed earlier, she looks even more so now. "What are you doing here?" she asks, her eyes narrowing.
My brows raise slightly, but I keep my back straight as I stare at her. "I live here."
"You live here?" she asks, her voice raising an octave. Her face pinches.
I nod.
"Hell no," she says, shaking her head. "It's bad enough I have to live with them." She points at Zoe and Clemmen, the latter of which rolls her eyes. "I'm not doing this. I'm living with enough outcasts." She pushes past me before I can say anything and then she's exiting, slamming the door behind her.
Okay then.
Clemmen raises a brow, "Damn, you're on her bad side already?"
"Who exactly is her anyway?" I ask, rubbing my thumb against my palm.
"Soskia Windaire," Clemmen says, waving her hand. "She's an uber bitch and thinks she's better than she actually is. I guess it comes with the territory when you’re a princess and the next in line to be queen.” Princess? Queen? “My advice for you: stay the fuck away from her."
Too late.
