I stiffen at his triumphant tone. His gaze slides, meets mine and asks, You still wanna be here?
Something inside me snaps.
“If she was frigid with you, it was probably your fault,” I say. “When a woman doesn’t respond in bed, it generally means the man doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
What the hell areyou doing? my mind screams.
That’s a great question, but…no fucking clue. I should just walk away and leave them to what will undoubtedly devolve into a shouting match. Instead, I seem rooted to the spot and am saying things I shouldn’t.
But leaving isn’t an option. Not when toady Todd is smirking with the satisfaction of a man who knows he’s hit the mark, and Sierra is staring at him speechless, her face a shade of embarrassed red.
“What do you know?” Todd says, practically spitting the words. “It’s not like you ever slept with her!”
I let a smile take over my face. “Don’t be so sure.”
