Dralle's Bride (Crystal Glass Dragons 4) - Page 35

Ionly knew it was a dream because of how weightless I felt.

It was like I was drifting on a sea of thick air, falling down to the ground beneath me and peering into windows of the future and past. Dralle’s voice caught my ears, and I followed his voice to go to him.

He was sitting at a conference table with the Seer I’d met before. He was so good-looking, and I was entranced just by getting to look at him without him looking back at me for once. It was nice to really get to admire his face.

“I can’t wait to get her pregnant; I still have a chance at the throne.”

“Things take time,” the Seer responded to him.

“I won’t wait. This is my chance.”

My ears rang at the words.

When was this? How distant in the future was this conversation? It felt weird to spy on him, but I wanted to know.

“Her shop is on the outskirts of Ember Abyss. When you find her, take it slowly. You remember what happened with Rhuron.”

“When I find her, it’s over,” he grinned with a confidence I didn’t expect.

Wait… this was before we met?

He was talking about getting me pregnant, filling me with his kids, before we even met? I knew about the line of royalty, but this felt bad. I hadn’t been using protection, and suddenly I realized how foolish I’d been. I wasn’t even on birth control. Why wasn’t I more responsible?

Nausea filled me in the dream, and suddenly I was swept into another room.

There were three women, all holding their stomachs and talking about being pregnant. They looked at me and extended their hands in a symbol of sisterhood. I opened my mouth to scream, but no sound came out.

Was this just a trap?

Was it all a trap?

Did he even like me?

I stumbled out of that room and into another. The thunder rolled, familiar and loud, and it felt like it was echoing all around me.

Not that dream.

Not now.

I was mad at my brother, but that didn’t mean I wanted to see him die in my sleep again.

That streak of green filled the sky, and I could now clearly see Dralle’s dragon form in its full glory. He was huge, like a building made of just scales and muscle. My brother was a giant wolf, but no wolf could handle that on its own.

I shifted faster this time and started rushing to them.

Running as fast as possible.

This time.

Please.

I’d learned enough, I let myself be happy, I worked harder than ever to be honest with my family.

I deserve some happiness, don’t I?
