I looked at my family, my heart full of love and so much joy. Parker was the best father I could want for my kids. He was present, attentive and always available–nothing like the parents I had growing up.
“Hey, Parker.”
“Yes, Kitty Cat?”
“I love you.”
His gaze shot up to me, getting up from the floor where he was prepping the kids backpacks. Our daughter hung off his shoulders like a wild animal, while our son was taking out everything that Parker had packed in the bag.
“What’s that for?” He asked, holding onto Sammy so she wouldn’t roll on her back and hurt herself.
“You’re just so much more than I could ever hope for.”
“Baby, I need to go see Mommy for a minute, ok?” He asked our daughter, putting her gently on her feet before getting up and walking to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him. His head buried in my hair, he took a deep breath, and kissed me softly at the nape of my neck, making my body shiver with both lust and love.
“If we didn’t have work, and if the kids weren’t here, I would have you bent over that counter, screaming my name. But since our little minions are staring at us, I am going to just tell you that I love you more than the air I breathe. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me, baby. You and the kids are my whole life. I am not sure what I did to deserve you, but I live to make you happy, because, baby, I’m never letting you go.”
